Charmaine Olivia…

Another fascinating artist and really beautiful model – double trouble =) A memorable standing out name certainly suits the talent behind it….Something similar to Juli Jah and some others from my previous posts, something I am absolutely amazed with, but at the same time Olivia is differently unique=)

Charmaine Olivia, age 22, is a self taught artist that grew up in San Diego, but now resides in San Francisco. Moved there for better art scene and Mexican Food. She spends her days and nights making magic either with her paint brush or computer. She has exhibited in more art shows this year than the number of fingers on your hands and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. She has also numerous publications and some of her clients and projects include Urban Outfitters, Lady Gaga, Hallmark, Volcom Stone, Element, Nylon Magazine, Inked Girls Magazine, Eyes on Walls, Threadless, Bolia, and Society6. Her whole apartment is pretty much her studio so you can see her life personal space and creative place on her site a lot.

After high-school she was a yoga teacher for a while until someone asked to buy one of her paintings that she was doing as a hobby aside. That was the moment she decided she can do this and never stopped since. She calls herself artoholic, art is all she does. That’s truly inspiring. Most of her work is women, she says the inspiration comes from her friends, models, or even herself, seeing herself aside, creating alternative personalities. Her biggest inspirations come from her dreams.

She is also very inspired by musical artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Mountain Man and Fleet Foxes. She’s also in love with Gustav Klimt. She likes how musicians can portray emotion and thoughts and that’s what she strives to do with her work.

I admire this true spirit of art and I believe she’s amazing inspiration, that proves if you love something and are passionate about it, you can make it happen, you can make a living out of it, just do what your body and soul tells you and you will be noticed.
