iPad 3 latest news…

Live from Apple new iPad event today, reporting Mashable blog, one of the best sites for news on technology etc.=)

Here’s what they report…

Apple raised the curtains on its latest star products — a new iPad and a new Apple TV — in San Francisco on Wednesday morning after months of heavy speculation.

CEO Tim Cook and marketing chief Phil Schiller unveiled the products on stage at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, whereMashable Deputy editor Chris Taylor and I are reporting live.

The new iPad has retina display, 5-megapixel camera (with the same optics sensor from the iPhone 4S), 1080p video recording and A5X chip (with quad-core graphics). The new Apple TV supports full 1080p HD and will remain $99.

Cook opened the event with post-PC sales figures, saying 172 million iPods, iPhones and iPads were sold in Q4 of 2011. That’s accounts for 76% of revenues that quarter. Then, he announced iOS 5.1 is available today as well as Siri in Japan. Apple also sold 15.4 million iPads in Q4 in 2011. To put that into context, HP shipped 15.1 PCs in the same quarter.

And here’s images from the event, couldn’t be more excited about the new beauty! It’s not the same (the presentation) without Steve…but best way to honor him is to continue honoring his amazing work that hopefully will be coming for many years more…=)
