Sleeping at last….
Some more music…This time it’s an indie rock band that was originally formed in 1999 in Wheaton, Illinois. Lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Ryan O’Neal is the sole member of the band. The group built a significant local following and opened for bands such as Kill Hannah and Plain White T’s, attracting the attention of Billy Corgan, who got them signed to Interscope Records in 2002. Their major label debut, Ghosts, followed in 2003.
National touring ensured, first opening for Switchfoot, then for Billy Corgan’s side project Zwan, Yellowcard, Something Corporate, The Format, and Bleu. They received airplay on Fuse TV and their song “Quicksand” was featured in the third season of Grey’s Anatomy. Their third full-length, Keep No Score, was released independently.
Although they have been in the industry for quite a while, I did not notice them until recently, when I heard their song on Twilight: Breaking the Dawn 1st part movie. They were playing a song “Turning Page” and it amazed me. The whole soundtrack of that movie (as well as of all the other parts of this series) was really great, but this song stand out the most. It was actually played twice in the movie, once an instrumental version during wedding scene and later on normal version during honeymoon. The movie did not make me like the song more, but the song surely made the movie better=)
Turning Page song is so luring you in and making you fully get lost in the mood of the song, at least in my opinion…
“if I had only felt the warmth within your touch…if I had only seen how you smile when you blush…or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough..I would have known what I was living for all along….” – these lyrics are just so beautiful…it makes me truly wanna be the girl that curls the lip…it drags me into that romantic mood and let’s me imagine lovely life/movie scene, where you watch someone you love (while they have no idea, a bit creepy ha:D) and admire all the small things about him/her feeling the luckiest in the world…
If you got interested in this band, check out their website and their amazing year book art collection. And in case you’d like the CD of their major debut “Ghost”, click here=)
And here is the lovely song…I hope you enjoy it=)
